US equities finished mixed, with the Dow marginally higher while the S&P and Nasdaq lost ground for a third-straight day, a first in 2013 for the two indexes, as uncertainty surrounding when the Fed will scale back its asset purchases nearly washed out a stronger-than-expected US durable goods report. Treasuries were modestly higher in an abbreviated traded session despite the upbeat durable goods data, while gold, crude oil and the US dollar all lost ground. In earnings news, retailers Sears Holdings Corp and Abercrombie & Fitch Co saw heavy pressure after both retailers reported wider-than-expected losses. Elsewhere, Dow member Procter & Gamble Co announced that Alan George Lafley has rejoined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer. Please note, all US markets will be closed on Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
